IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT AS NURSES WE ARE DEVELOPING AS MORAL BEINGS.
WHAT WE BELIEVE AND VALUE at one stage in our lives might be quite different at another stage of life. Even our intuitive responses can shift and evolve. We do know that much of this change occurs through life experience and through interactions with others.
This is important to think about as your ideas about MAID may evolve over time. Also, as eligibility criteria and safeguards related to MAID change you may also change in your moral comfort level. As a professional you have an obligation to explore these beliefs and values deeply.
